Giuliano Modarelli, born in 1977 in Milan, Italy, is a renowned guitarist, composer, and producer known for his unique blend of Indian classical, jazz, and world music. He started his musical journey with classical guitar before moving to England in 2000 to study jazz at Leeds College of Music. This diverse training helped him develop a distinctive style that seamlessly integrates various musical traditions.

Modarelli is the founder of several innovative musical projects. One of his most notable endeavors is the fusion collective Samay, which explores the intersections of Indian and Western musical forms. Another significant project is the ensemble Kefaya, which he co-founded. Kefaya is celebrated for its global sound, combining traditional folk styles with contemporary influences, and has performed at prestigious events such as the WOMAD festival and the London Jazz Festival.

In addition to his work with ensembles, Modarelli has a robust solo career and has collaborated with a variety of artists across different genres. His collaborations include work with Indian percussionist Bickram Ghosh and contributions to Bollywood film scores, showcasing his versatility and wide-ranging appeal.

Modarelli's discography includes both solo albums and recordings with his ensembles, reflecting his commitment to musical innovation and cross-cultural dialogue. His contributions to the world music scene have earned him recognition as a leading figure in the genre, continually pushing the boundaries of musical expression.
