Vivek is widely recognised as a tabla prodigy, capable of carrying forward the legacy of the great maestros. He hails from a family of musicians, with his father, Kalpit Pandya, and his uncle, Viral Pandya, having trained in Indian Classical Music and regularly practising at home. This musical environment naturally drew Vivek towards the tabla from the age of three. Under the guidance of his uncle, Viral Ji, he began exploring the instrument, and by the age of five, he was accepted as a disciple of the world-renowned maestro, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. His musical journey has continued ever since.
Vivek has accompanied both emerging talents and esteemed maestros on prestigious stages across the globe. He has performed at several notable music festivals in India, including in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Solapur. Internationally, he has showcased his artistry in the USA, with performances in New York, New Jersey, Phoenix, Texas, Delaware, and beyond. His discography includes two albums—Chidaksha, a collaboration with santoor player Vinay Desai, and a feature on 20 for 20, alongside Inbal Segev, a member of the New York Philharmonic, as well as Yale University and Juilliard graduates. Additionally, Vivek has been invited twice to conduct an extramural lecture series at MSU University in Baroda. Committed to preserving and passing on the rich heritage of Indian Classical Music, he has also begun mentoring young students who represent the future of this timeless art form.
