Artist Bio:

Nirmalya Roy is an accomplished and versatile vocalist and playback singer for Bollywood and Bengali cinema, celebrated for his mastery across genres — from Hindustani classical and light classical to devotional, modern Bengali songs, ghazals, and film music.

A distinguished scholar of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, he trained under the legendary Pandit Arun Bhaduri and has performed extensively across India and abroad.

Beyond performance, Nirmalya Roy has composed music for television and films and has served as a judge on several singing reality shows. His journey began with Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla, where he contributed as a mentor, creative director, and music director.

An accomplished educator, he has also served as a music professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and collaborated with the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar.

Nirmalya continues to conduct vocal workshops, lecture demonstrations, and recitals around the world, and has released several acclaimed music albums, both in India and internationally.
