Gambhīranāṭa is an upāṅga janyai of the 29th mēḷakartaii Dhīraśaṅkarābharaṇa. It is an auḍavaiii rāga. The svarasiv occurring in this rāga are ṣaḍja, antara gāndhāra, śuddha madhyama, pañchama, kākali niṣādav. Its ārōhaṇavi and avarōhaṇavii are

In Western music notation, if C is taken as the base or tonic note, then the scale is
C E F G B C – C B G F E C.
Gāndhāra, madhyama, niṣāda are rāgachāyā svarasviii. Gāndhāra, pañcama and niṣāda are nyāsa svarasix. Sa-ma, sa-pa are vādi-samvādi svaras (consonant notes).
It can portray rasasx like vīra (valour) and adbhuta (wonder) very effectively. This is an ancient Raga that is used extesensivly by the Nadaswaram (Pipe Music) tradition and especially the The South Indian Temple Music traditions.
