Husēni is a bhāṣāṅga janyai of the 22nd mēḷakartaii Kharaharapriya. It is a vakra sampūrṇa-krama sampūrṇaiii rāga. The svarasiv occurring in this rāga are ṣaḍja, chatuśruti riṣabha, sādhāraṇa gāndhāra, śuddha madhyama, pañchama, chatuśruti dhaivata, kaiśiki niṣādav. Śuddha dhaivata occurs in some phrases and is not present in its own parent rāga Kharaharapriya. Its ārōhaṇavi and avarōhaṇavii are

Riṣabha, madhyama are rāgachāyā svarasviii. Riṣabha, pañcama are nyāsa svarasix. Sa-ma, sa-pa, ri-da, ri-pa are vādi-samvādi svaras (consonant notes).
It can portray rasasx like hāsya (amusement), karuṇā (compassion) and śṛṅgāra (romantic) very effectively, just as it can convey the feeling of devotion or bhakti bhāva. Many padams and jāvaḷis have been composed in this rāga due to its effectiveness in bringing out śṛṅgāra rasa.
