A near identical twin of raga Yaman, this raga is also known as Iman Kalyan, Yamani Kalyan or Jamuna Kalyan. Like Yaman, this too offers a vast canvas and is extremely popular raga.

Yaman Kalyan employs both Shuddh and Teevra Madhyams (M and m). Shuddh Madhyam is essentially used in the descent oriented phrases. According to some musicologists, this raga blends Shuddh Kalyan, Bilawal and Yaman.
