Sandeep Virdee OBE
Abandoning a successful career in accountancy, Sandeep curated his first Indian classical musical festival in honour of his late father, Bhai Gurmit Singh Ji Virdee, in 2006 and has never looked back since. Passionate about South Asian arts, he has in-depth working knowledge of Indian classical music and is an activist championing diversity within the UK arts sector. He established the Darbar Festival, the largest Indian classical music festival outside India, setting sector benchmarks for artistic curation and excellence in live performance. Sandeep has extensive digital photography and broadcast standard video production skills. He is on the British Council’s ‘Arts and Creative Economy Advisory Group.’ He can often be found late into the night, headphones on, listening to up-and-coming artists on YouTube.
