Milind Kulkarni
Milind Kulkarni is a modern exponent of Hindustani classical harmonium. Starting at the age of seven, he learned fast under the tutelage of successive gurus – Vasantrao Gurav, Anna Diwan, and Pramod Marathe. He still studies under the latter, and also receives accompaniment instruction from leading non-harmonium artists too, including vocalist Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar and tabla maestro Pandit Suresh Talwalkar.
Milind Kulkarni, a skilled harmonium player, has performed at the Darbar Festival in 2015, 2017, and 2021, collaborating with many renowned artists such as Ustad Waseem Khan, Pandit Kaivalya Kumar Gurav, and Kaushiki Chakraborty. His performances at the festival have been marked by his intricate and nuanced harmonium playing, blending harmoniously with diverse musical styles and creating captivating musical dialogues with the artists he has worked with. His contributions to these collaborations have enriched the festival’s presentations of Hindustani classical music.
