Pandit Vinod Lele
Vinod Lele, hailing from the illustrious Banaras gharana of tabla playing and mentored by the esteemed Kashinath Khandekar, boasts a rich musical journey. Alongside his Sangeet Praveen degree from the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, he has garnered acclaim as a gold medalist. His exceptional talent shone brightly when he clinched the first prize in the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi competition in 1982 and triumphed again in the All India Radio music competition in 1983.
Designated as a grade ‘A’ artiste by both All India Radio and Doordarshan, Vinod Lele’s virtuosity has graced countless stages. His extensive travels have not only enriched his musical repertoire but also afforded him the privilege of accompanying numerous leading performers, cementing his legacy as a revered tabla maestro.
Vinod Lele delivered a masterful performance at the Darbar Festival in 2018, accompanying the renowned vocalist Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande alongside harmonium virtuoso Vinay Misra. His intricate and expressive tabla playing provided a rich rhythmic foundation, enhancing the depth and emotion of the performance. With his impeccable timing and nuanced accompaniment, Lele added a dynamic layer to the concert, creating a mesmerizing musical experience for the audience.
