Sukhdeep Dhanjal
Sukhdeep Dhanjal is an eminent UK-based tabla player, and son-in-law to Bhai Gurmeet Singh Virdee, in whose memory Darbar Festival was founded. He has performed at WOMAD, Reading Festival, and the BBC, and leads the fusion quartet Garam Masala. He takes a special interest in teaching rhythm to children with disabilities and learning difficulties.
Sukhdeep Dhanjal has graced the Darbar Festival with his performances many times since 2006. Over the years, he has collaborated with various esteemed artists, including Manjit Rasiya, Roopa Panesar, and Harmeet Virdee. His rhythmic mastery and nuanced playing have added a unique dimension to each performance, enriching the classical music experience at the festival.
