VV Ramanamurthy
VV Ramanamurthy is a leading mridangam artist. Born to a lineage of Carnatic masters, he was recognised as a prodigy before embarking on a successful performance career. He has worked with Hindustani and jazz artists as well as leading Carnatic performers, and finds time to teach many promising students of his own.
VV Ramanamurthy delivered remarkable performances at the Darbar Festival in 2014, collaborating with some of the finest artists in Indian classical music. He performed with Akkarai S Subhalakshmi, Shashank Subramanyam, and Abhishek Raghuram, creating an exceptional musical experience that highlighted his virtuosity and deep understanding of Carnatic tradition. His contributions to the festival enriched the audience’s experience, bringing together the elegance of the violin and the vibrancy of other leading instruments, creating memorable musical moments.
