In 2017, the Darbar Festival took centre stage at London’s Southbank Centre, delivering a masterful showcase of Indian classical heritage. The season was defined by rare collaborations and the UK debut of world-class talents, solidifying our reputation for curation that spans both Hindustani and Carnatic traditions. The lineup was headlined by legendary sitarist Pandit Kushal Das and featured the transcendent dhrupad vocals of the Gundecha Brothers. Audiences were captivated by the “singing violin” of Kala Ramnath and a powerful vocal recital by Kaushiki Chakraborty. A major highlight was the curated Chowraasiya ensemble, which brought together elite instrumentalists for a unique rhythmic dialogue. Beyond the concerts, we expanded our reach through educational workshops and Yogabliss sessions, connecting listeners more deeply to the spiritual essence of the ragas.
